Hand Warmers

You have most likely heard the saying cold hands warm hearts!  This year I decided my kiddos didn't need to have cold hands this winter.  I sewed up some peppermint scented hand warmers for them for their stockings this year.  Thinking I may give a few away to friends and family too.  So easy to make.  I filled mine with peppermint scented rice.  All you need are some pinking shears, fabric of your choice, peppermint oil and a sewing machine. Full tutorial link below.

Hoping to keep those cold hands a little warmer this winter.

Roots and Wings Quote

This is my quote for the week. When I recently came across this sentiment I had to share.  Love these words!  I have a young son and a teen son and feel like this describes my life perfectly at the current moment as a mother. The author is unknown.  I pulled elements from Deena Rutters kit Roots and Wings kit to create this thought!

Printable Fall Gift Tags

Fall is in the air and it officially begins this week! Autumn is my favorite season.  I love pumpkin spice and apples crunchy leaves and all the wonderful things about the season.  I created two gift tags for you today.

I thought this method dish soap dispenser was awesome! I love that I can give it a quick pump instead of using my old awkward soap dispenser!  I have been giving them as gifts lately.  I love giving useful gifts to friends and family. This one needed a little tag attached. So I created two for you to print!  BCD Dolls is sharing the love of Autumn today with a little gift for you also! Just click the image below to print and your ready to go.  I used a hole punch and some ribbon for my tag.   Elements from One Fall Day and Natures Best were used to create the tags.

Great Thoughts - Only 3 Things Matter

Every so often I read something that just resonates with me.  This thought was one of those today so I had to create a quote to share.

I created two versions on a journal card the first one from Deena Rutters Wood Song kit.  The one below from the Great Outdoors kit. Happy Sunday to you today!

DIY Notebook Cover

Making a notebook cover for my little artist was so much fun to create!  We have a lot of composition notebooks around our home and it can be a challenge figuring out which one belongs to each child.  So I decided we needed to make a custom cover to make it easier to find their own.  I absolutely love Deena Rutters kit Woodsong and it was perfect for my daughters cover!

So this amazing kit has some great papers.   Did I say it was amazing? The elements are darling.  Hedgehogs, bunnies and squirrels add to the charm of this nature inspired kit.  It was perfect for my little artists sketchbook cover.

Did I mention it has hedgehogs elements?  We happen to love hedgehogs at our house. Earlier this week my daughter had been begging to have one as a pet.  For now I will enjoy them here on paper! :)

The forest scene I used was already created on the paper and I added a few elements to it.  I created this page as an 8 1/2 by 10 inches leaving an inch along the bottom that I trimmed along with the corners. A little glue and some double sided tape and you are ready to wrap it around your notebook! Please note if you are wanting the cover to wrap more than an inch across the back you may need to enlarge your image or adjust your size to 9 1/2 by 10 inches.

We were both happy with how it turned out!  Below is our cover for the new school year.  I used the kit Every Little Bit Dwell by Deena Rutter.

Great thoughts!

I loved the sentiment of this thought today. So many times I find myself worried about too many things. When I simplify my thoughts and really focus on the many blessings I am surrounded by,  I realize I have so much!  This wonderful thought sums it all up. I created this book mark with a journal card from Deena Rutters Roots and Wings kit from Pixels and Co.  Enjoy these bookmarks today and share one with a friend! I love to laminate mine, and add a hole punch with a ribbon. ~Enjoy

Ice Cream Wrap Tutorial

Don't you just love summer? I love the long nights on the porch.  Trips to the lake.  Lazy summer days!  Last year we bought an ice cream maker.  We had a great time whipping up some batches of ice cream and trying lot's of different flavors. We also have a shaved ice maker and I love those cute little pointed cups.  Well I thought why not make something fun for our ice cream cones as well!  So I am putting together a little tutorial for you.  In minutes you will have some fun little wraps for your cones that anyone can cut out and wrap around a cone!

I love old fashioned waffle cones.  To make a wrap to fit  I had to make my template slightly larger to fit the width of the cone.

I chose some bright coordinating paper from the Boutique Cute Dolls collection

Are you ready for a free template so you can make your own? This was my first attempt at designing a template! I hope you enjoy making a wrap with it.  Just click and print.

Don't forget to check out some of the latest new releases in the Oscraps Store. There are lots of fun ideas for you to use this summer!

Wishing you an amazing summer!

Happy Mothers Day Cards and Bookmarks

Mothers Day will soon be here.

I love celebrating Mothers day! I have two beautiful mother's in my life. I enjoy letting them know how much I love them during the month of May. This year I created a photo card as well as a printed folded card, and pretty bookmarks.

I also created a 10 x 7 folded card to share with each of them.  I printed it on card stock and then folded it. Finished dimenstiona are 5 x 7. I left the inside blank to write a message.

I also created a 4x6 photo card.  I made one for Mothers Day as well as Fathers Day.  They were so easy to make with a digital journal card from Deena Rutters kits!  All of the graphics I used to create my projects came from Pixels and Co.

Easter Treat Wrap

Easter will be here this weekend.  I wanted to put together a little something for our annual Easter picnic.  I decided to make a treat topper for my family this year.  You can fill this fun little wrap with all kinds of small treats or a non candy item.  If you have a pair of decorative edge scissors you can even trim the top for a little extra fun.  So when I designed my wraps I chose two to fit on a regular copy page.  These work best printed on card stock.  I also like to print mine double sided with a print on the opposite side.

In this example I hole punched the top and tied it with some ribbon.  I put a pack of gum inside my wrap. you can easily add a clear cello bag inside with your items as well.

Here is my alternative choice.  I love being able to design two on a printed page.

This is the other side of my wrap.  When you open it up you can see a print on the inside.

Score the card stock at 4", 4 1/2", 5" and 9". Fold the card stock in half at the 4 1/2" score line.

Now fold the 4" and 5" score line in the opposite direction to create the bottom of the treat bag cover.

I featured a tutorial for Valentines Day with further instructions on how to make a wrap. http://digitaldesignsscrapbooking.blogspot.com/2014/01/valentine-treat-wrap.html

Graphics kit I used to create my wrap came from Bunny Trail by Forever Joy
