Making Cards

I am super excited to share what I have been doing lately.  It took me awhile but I figured out how to make and design a digital card.  Heritage collector storybook makes this so easy!  I love that I can choose the custom size of a page that I want.  I chose a 6 X 8 inch card that I could fold in half. The finished card should fit in a 4x6 inch envelope.  Starting this card helped me to see how easy this can be.  It also opened up  a world of possibilities for me.  Mothers day, Fathers day, Birthdays, Christmas.  Really any occasion that I want to make a card for.  I also made a treat bag topper.  I was even able to customize my facebook timeline!  Can you see all of the possibilities here?

Scrapbooking With Storybook

Valentines Day is just around the corner.  So many great ideas for the month of love.  No matter your situation whether you are single, married, young or old.  February is the month to express your love to family and friends.  You can design or send a thoughtful card or message designed by you.  Why not create a fun collage of photo's to save and cherish for many years to come.  I usually toss the cards that are given to me unless there is a message or photograph that is meaningful to me.  I don't think Grandma is going to toss out a photo card that is personalized just for her.  Or a photo scrapbook page that is created just for mom  a husband or friend.  It really doesn't have to take a lot of time to give something that will be enjoyed and saved with those other precious photo's on display or tucked safely away to enjoy later.

Heritage Collector

 
I haven't posted in a while.  Now that the holidays are behind me I am ready to begin again.  It's that time again to make a fresh start of a new year.  One of the things that I want to do better this year is to scan my old photos onto my computer.  I have so many fun memories of my childhood, teenage years, wedding and early years of my marriage.  Most of these photo's I am ashamed to say are still in a tupper ware bucket in the bottom of my sons closet.  Now to redeem myself I have scanned some of those photos.  I think the best way for me to begin this task is to start small.  If  I plan to scan a few photo's a day and then a few more I will soon have this task behind me and then I can begin the fun part of the process.  I saw a darling 3 generation photo of a mother her daughter and grand daughter side by side in a nice frame. That would be so fun to make for Mothers Day this year.

The latest project of mine was to put together a digital invite for a friend here it is.  It was super easy to create using Heritage Collector Storybook.

I also put together a scrapbook page of my sons activities and highlights of the past year.  It was super easy to design this page I found a template and added text and my photo's.

I thought I would  design a menu planner.  I thought this page would be fun to laminate or frame.  You could then rewrite meal plans each week with a dry erase marker.  I created this scrapbook page using Storybook and then I  printed it at Costco.  I am planning to laminate this attach a magnet and place it on my fridge.

Some fun invitations

I had fun creating these two different Invitations that a friend wanted to use for a church activity coming up.  Really not hard at all to design these using Heritage Collector Storybook.  You can whip up some fun cards in no time at all.  All you need are some fun graphics that you choose and Heritage Collector and you are ready to begin.  I love the ease at which you can do this and all of the helpful tips you can learn as you get started.  I am looking forward to creating a fun keepsake birthday card next.  Check back often for more great tips and ideas.  Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

DIY Christmas Cards

I just finished creating my family Christmas card and a fun party invitation using Heritage Collector Storybook.  I love the idea of being able to print and create my own cards and invitations from home.  I get to choose the graphics and layouts.  I was able to create these cards quickly and easily. I didn't even have to wait in line to do this. In years past I would go to Costco or another print facility and wait in long lines.  Once I got to the front of the line I felt rushed to finish my cards or projects because others were waiting in line behind me.  I had a limited choice on what was available as far as the graphics and layouts.  Not this year.  I had a great experience choosing the colors, theme, and font.  I could spend as much time as I wanted.  I will still wait in line to pick up my prints.  But if I didn't want to wait in line I can have the prints shipped to my home.  So nice to know that I was able to personalize these any way I want!  I love using the Storybook program.

Heritage Collector

Tip Number Three :

When you are trying something for the first time don't be afraid to ask for help.  When I am trying something new I often do some research first.  I look around a bit at what others are doing or have tried.  When I first started to venture into the world of digital scrapbooking I was intimidated.  I had to learn a new way of doing things.  There was a learning curve that I had to follow.  This involved learning a new program.  I now had to do a virtual or computerized page layout with graphics and text.  This was a bit daunting in the beginning and I will admit I wanted to throw my hands in the air and go back to what seemed familiar and easy for me. 

Can I say that I am so glad I found Storybook included in Heritage Collector.  I love being able to create digital scrapbook pages now.  I no longer have to cut and paste and spend a small fortune on scrapbook supplies.  I only wished I had switched to digital sooner.  Once I discovered Heritage Collector I was delighted. I love all of the helpful tips and a newsletter I can follow that keeps me informed with helpful and useful information.  Not only does it store and organize my photo's.  It has a fantastic and easy to use Storybook tool.  I can now create everything from the same all in one program.  Best of all  the helpful tips are there to make this transition as easy as possible.  One of my favorites and the one I am highlighting in this post are webinars.  A webinar is an online classroom were I log in from the comfort of my own home.  I watch a live instructor teach me how to create a digital scrapbook page.  I also learn how to create flyers, invitations, and calendars.  It makes navigating the digital scrapbook world easy!  I receive wonderful information that an experienced user shares to make my experience simple and trouble free.   It is incredible how easy technology has made it for us to connect from around the globe at the touch of a computer.  Don't miss out on a wonderful free class available to you now.
